What started as a drunken conversation down the pub turned into an award-winning piece of agency self-promotion that ran for over a year.
Campaign magazine has Private View, where industry bigwigs pontificate over the latest ads, in a very navel gazing kinda way. So, we thought it would be much more interesting to see what real members of the public thought, seeing as they’re the real audience, after all.
Fortunately, we were lucky enough to be working in offices on Leather Lane in Farringdon at the time, which was full of salt-of-the-earth market traders who were all willing to offer their opinions. And so Market View was born: Private View meets Gogglebox, in EC1.
We made 30 episodes in all that featured in our fortnightly agency newsletter. Once people started watching, open rates went through the roof and we even secured a couple of bits of new business from some entertained prospects!
